GATE, ENTRY AND REGULATIONS

1.        Admission to the grounds will be by TICKET OR EXHIBITOR’S BRACELET only. All exhibitors must purchase an exhibitor’s bracelet.

2.        Adult 2-day pass: $6.00. Child (age 6-12) & senior citizen 2-day pass: $3.00. Children 5 and under: free.

3.        Exhibitor’s adult 2-day pass: $5.00. Child (age 6-12) or senior citizen exhibitor’s 2-day pass: $2.50.

4.        Exhibit buildings and mall booths will open at 9 am and close at 7 PM on Saturday August 12 and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday August 13. Space renters are fully responsible for their displays during these hours.

5.        All entries must be made on prescribed forms for each section supplied by, or available from the Association. A separate form must be used by each exhibitor. Forms may be photocopied.

6.        Exhibitor’s pass fee, must accompany entry forms.

7.        ENTRIES MAILED TO: Quesnel Agricultural & Exhibition Association, 4723 Dusty Road, Quesnel, BC V2J 6L5.

8.        Exhibits must be received at the exhibit tents between 12 noon and 5:00 pm Friday August 11, 2006 unless otherwise stated in individual divisions. Exhibits must be picked up from the Exhibit tent on Sunday August 13 between 4:30 p.m. and 5:00 p.m.

9.        Office Hours at AlexFraser Park are:

         Tuesday – Friday Aug. 8 – 11 from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.

10.     Parking and camping are the responsibility of the Grounds Manager, and exhibitors must confine their vehicles and campsite to the designated areas. Violators may have their privileges revoked. Livestock must be placed in exhibit barns or display areas only after authorization has been given by the barn manager or grounds chairman.

 

AWARDS

11.     Entries will not be awarded prizes unless considered worthy by the judge.

12.     The Exhibition & Fair Board will not be held accountable for any comments made or recorded by a judge.

13.     JUDGE’S DECISIONS WILL BE FINAL!

14.     The official winners list shall be made from the judges records. In the event of any discrepancy between the displaying of ribbons and the official winners list the latter shall prevail.

15.     Our 2006 fair is a Blue Ribbon Fair with any additional prizes being a bonus. All prizes will be issued from the official winners list and must be picked up from the grounds between 4:30 pm and 5:00 p.m. on Sunday August 13. Due to lack of office space all prizes must be picked up by the stated time or will discarded on Monday August 14, 2006.

GENERAL RULES

16.     Any exhibitor who violates any of the General Rules, or any of the rules printed herein, shall be liable to forfeit any or all prize money and awards made to such an exhibitor, and may also be barred from future competition for such a period as may be decided by the Directors.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

17.     Exhibitors of animals, machinery in motion and other exhibits liable to cause accidents, injury or damage to property, or to a person coming in contact with them, shall guard their exhibits and protect the public from coming in contact therewith, and every exhibitor shall indemnify the Association from and against all claims, demands, costs, charges and expenses, which it may incur, suffer, or be put to, by reason of accident or of any person properly guarded, or the public not being properly guarded therefore.

18.     Each exhibitor shall assume responsibility for any injury occasioned to himself, or his assistants, while exhibiting or performing.

19.     The Association will take all reasonable precaution to ensure the safety of exhibits sent to the Exhibition, but the owners themselves must take the risk of exhibiting them, and should any exhibit, or portion thereof, be injured, lost or stolen, the Association will give assistance to the recovery of same, but will not be liable, or make payment for the value thereof,. Twenty-four hours security will be employed by the Association during the Exhibition.

20.     The Association reserves the right to refuse or terminate any exhibit or display it deems to be illegal, immoral or not in keeping with the atmosphere of the Exhibition, and to return any entry fee without being liable for compensation.

21.     All protest or appeals must be made in writing, must state plainly the cause of the complaint, and must be delivered to the Association executive within 24 hours of the closing of the fair, accompanied by a certified cheque for $25.00, refundable if the complaint is upheld by the Board of Directors.

22.     Should any question arise not provided for above, the decision of the Directors is FINAL!

 

LIVESTOCK RULES

23.     Entries will close Friday, August 11, 2006. Mailed entries must be postmarked no later than Wednesday, August 9, 2006.

24.     All Livestock must remain on the grounds until 5:00 P.M. Sunday August 13, 2006.

25.     Owners are responsible for feeding and watering their own stock. Bedding will be provided.

26.     Stalls will be allocated by the committees in charge.

27.     Livestock exhibitors are not required to clean their stalls and pens before leaving the grounds.

28.     All animals exhibited shall be free from contagious or infectious diseases. The Directors may have any animal inspected by a veterinarian prior to unloading or during the Fair.

29.     All animals exhibited in classes of registered livestock must be purebred or fullblood as defined in respective breed guidelines and must be registered in the name of the exhibitor or in transfer with proof. The animal’s name, age and registration number must be given on the entry form. Current year animals do not require registration certificates but must be eligible for registration, properly identified and tattooed. Registration certificates for older animals must be provided if asked for by the division committees.

30.     All registered animals exhibited must be tattooed.

31.     All animals exhibited must be owned by the exhibitor, or in transfer with proof; in case of Junior exhibitor by the exhibitor’s family.

32.     Harness to display information and number cards are required.

33.     Any exhibitor under the age of 9 years must be accompanied by an adult at all times while handling livestock.
